We are exploring the decision of Heavens to send Jesus presenting Him above all other titles as Son.
We have proven in the last session that everytime Jesus says “I” He means “I” The Son.
We have also shown in session 7 the wisdom and mystery of God is hidden in The Son.
We have The Prophet Jesus. We have the Chief Apostle Jesus. We have The High Priest Jesus. We have The Chief Rabbi; The Rabonni Jesus. Above all these we have The Lord Jesus.
Then why was He not packaged as Lord and why did He not present Himself to us as Lord?
Jesus as Lord would not have been Crucified on the Cross of Calvary. Matthew 26:53-54
Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?
We would not be able to meet The Lord and live.
And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live. Jesus as Lord is the face of God and we would not see that face and live. Satan would not dare approach Jesus as in His Full Lordship in the wilderness.
He had to approach Him in His Sonship.
2 Corinthians 4:5-6
For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake.
For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to [give] the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
Jesus is Lord over the entire Cosmos.
His Lordship is unfathomable!
When we go out to confront the powers of the Cosmos we preach His Lordship. The face of God that shines to the World.
This is The Lord in His Glory!
This part of Jesus we are not able to behold and live.
For Him to enter the earth He had to put down the Garment of Lordship which is His Glory and gave it to the Father.
He spoke to Israel for all times as The Lord but none would come near to Mount Sinai in His full Lordship. Even Moses would not see His Lordship and live.
The Father would not have released His Lordship to enter this earth and we live. We would all die.
Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven. When Jesus comes to Judge He will be in His Lordship!
The Lordship is the presence that moves and cast out all evil. The Sonship is reaching to us to relate with us.
Jesus therefore presented His Sonship to us for us to fathom and digest.
I want to leave you with one verse concerning His Lordship and He challenged the Pharisees for the first time bringing both Lordship and Sonship in one sentence and teaching.
As much as He was sent to present His Sonship to the earth He gave a little tip to the Bible Scholars of the day concerning the Lordship of The Son of Man. Matthew 22:41-46
“While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them,
Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, [The Son] of David. He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying,
The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool? If David then call him Lord, how is he his son?
And no man was able to answer him a word, neither durst any [man] from that day forth ask him any more [questions].”
We shall look at this scripture in the next installment.
