The Gospel from John Session 13

He came unto his own, and his own received him not.  But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:  Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

John 1:11‭-‬13 KJV

We spoke of verse 11 in the previous lesson and it states that Jesus came to his own and they received Him not.

We explained the implications of a ministry which is not received in today’s standards. We also showed that your Sonship is strengthened much more in the days which your ministry is not received.

Even after heavens were opened and the Father affirmed His Son in front of many witnesses; His ministry was not received.

After great confirmations of prophets followed with signs and wonders your ministry shall not be received, but if you learn as a son to draw daily affirmations from your heavenly Father you will be filled with joy.

One affirmation from your father whom you relate with is better than twenty confirmations from various prophets whom you have no relationship with whatsoever.

Orphan spirited leaders who are fatherless will go look for many confirmations of their callings because they miss the affirmations of their fathers.

Before you remind me that this is an affirmation from the Heavenly Father, I will tell you that Jesus was both Son of God and Son of Man.

This means that He grew getting affirmations from Joseph His Spiritual Father as well.

When the environment and its people do not receive you, we call that place your Wilderness.

After Jesus was affirmed by His Heavenly Father, The Spirit took Him to the Wilderness where He was going to be tempted.

And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness,  Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered.

Luke 4:1‭-‬2 KJV

Many people have the idea that when they are full of the Holy Ghost they will be led OUT OF THE WILDERNESS.

They attend many “Holy Ghost filled” night prayers that will remove them out of the Wilderness. But Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost was led by the Spirit INTO THE WILDERNESS!

This was not the only wilderness He encountered but the next wilderness was His hometown.

When you have just been released to ministry or just accepted the Lord Jesus into your life you go back to your hometown and this is your Wilderness.

This is where you come to be tempted, they see your nakedness everyday. They ask you where is your God.

My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?  My tears have been my meat day and night, while they continually say unto me, Where is thy God?  When I remember these things, I pour out my soul in me: for I had gone with the multitude, I went with them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept holyday.  Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.

Psalms 42:2‭-‬5 KJV

For some reason God will always allow our first Wilderness be our hometowns where we shall not be received by those who are our own.

It Jordan River our Sonship is affirmed but in Wilderness our Sonship is developed.

You begin to see the difference between Sons and Orphans when their needs are defined.

Sons do not emerge in abundance, they show up in scarcity and in rejection the beauty of their Sonship.

This wilderness of the rejection of Jesus was the very recipe that brought us into existence as sons.

He came unto his own, and his own received him not.  But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:  Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

John 1:11‭-‬13 KJV

He came to His own and they received Him not BUT S MANY as received Him…. Your rejection in your Wilderness strengthens your Sonship and is preparing for MANY SONS!

Swallow this pill of your hometown with joy in the knowledge that it is developing character for many sons that you will soon lead to the Lord.

Remember that when some reject you there are those whom it is given to them to hear you.

Sons must be willing to go through the following three stages of development:

1. The Jordan river where your Sonship is Announced.

2. The Wilderness where your Sonship is developed.

3. The Mountain where your Sonship is reaffirmed.

We shall learn about these three stages in other lessons.

I want to close our lesson today with the verse which will be the main lesson in our next session:

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

John 1:12 KJV

You have received the power to become son on the very first day you receive and believe in His Name which is Son of God.

When you receive a prophet you receive the reward of a prophet, but when you receive The Son of God you will receive the reward of becoming son.

We shall open our next session explaining these last two statements. Don’t be left behind.

 Shalom
